The App is Frozen
“My app has frozen and I am unable to click anything.”
First, make sure the app is up to date. If you’re using the latest version and it has still frozen, force quit the app using the steps below, then reopen it.

The steps below were correct at the time of writing, but device settings change with updates. If a step has moved, search for “force quit app” on your device.
iPad/iPhone — with a Home button:
- Double-click the Home button
- Swipe up on the Phonics Hero app preview to close it
iPad/iPhone — without a Home button:
- Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause in the middle until the App Switcher appears
- Swipe up on the Phonics Hero app preview to close it
Android tablet:
- Open the Settings app
- Choose ‘Apps’
- Find and tap Phonics Hero
- Tap ‘Force Stop’
Once closed, reopen the app from your Home Screen and try again.
