This website and our mobile application are run by Phonics Hero Ltd. We are committed to making our digital services as accessible as possible for all users, including those with disabilities.

How you can use our website and mobile application

We aim to ensure our content works well with a variety of assistive technologies and built-in device accessibility features. For example, you can:

  • Use your device or browser settings to adjust colours, contrast levels, and font sizes (where supported)
  • Navigate most of the website and app using a keyboard
  • Use speech recognition software for navigation
  • Access content using screen readers such as JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver

Please note:

  • The interactive games within the app and website do not currently support zoom functionality or in-app font/contrast adjustments.
  • Font and contrast settings may not apply uniformly across all content, particularly within game scenes.
  • We’ve written our content in clear, straightforward language and continue to explore ways to improve accessibility across all areas.

How accessible are our services?

Most of our website and mobile application are accessible, but we are aware of a few limitations:

  • Some older PDF documents are not fully accessible to screen readers.

Technical details

Phonics Hero Ltd is committed to meeting the requirements of the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Our website and mobile application aim to be fully compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 AA standard.

How we test accessibility

The most recent accessibility review was completed on 10th December 2024 by Phonics Hero Ltd. Our testing process included:

  • Automated testing of all web pages
  • Manual review and resolution of identified issues
  • Accessibility checks of PDF documents using Adobe Acrobat Pro, including manual checks for reading order and colour contrast
  • Testing of our main website at www.phonicshero.com
  • Testing of our mobile apps on iOS and Android tablets
